Malaga, La Paz, Bolivia

No dout from OD here Malaga in Bolivia.

I did not find the location exactely but I found in here p. 137.

And the river source of Rio Chapare seems to be near Villa Tunari.

Take for what it is worth.

It says eastern Bolivia, for what it's worth. ("circum Malaga Boliviae orientalis.") Presumably nowhere close to La Paz, thus.

Sure that' why posted it but as usual you made it even clearer. And here we can read:

So it seems 60 km northeast of Cochabamba. Quebrada seems to be a Ravine, Creek.

Key entry based solely on Paynter et al. 1975, Orn. Gazetteer of Bolivia, p. 36: "MALAGA Not located. High plateau locality, probably in La Paz area; Garlepp (Niethammer, 1956: 96)."

Rio Malaga is on the map (close to the lower left corner), Fig. 1, in Brumfield & Maillard 2007 https://www.researchgate.net/publication/242344569

It's this river: https://www.google.com/maps/place/1...3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d-17.2429722!4d-65.7690833

(One of the small streams that together form the Rio Paracti, which further downstreams is called the Chaparé. This matches, perhaps most significantly, the description of Staudinger 1894 [quoted in Martin's post #4 above], who says that Garlepp collected there from April to mid-May 1891, which is also when he collected the type of Metallura malagae according to the OD.)

I am surely with you Laurent :t:. That's the location where Garlepp collected (family discussed here). Fits to northeast of Cochabamba, Rio Chapare etc.
