Baer's pochard? (1 Viewer)

Hi!

Saw this bird in Phewa lake, Pokhara, Nepal in April 2014. Only got these photos from a great distance. I showed the photos to a local (and to my impression experienced and qualified) bird guide and he identified it as a Baer's pochard. Back then I didn’t really appreciated how rare this bird is, and the problem with possible hybrids. I have now taken a new look at the photos, and I’m starting to get some doubts about it.. So, I would very much appreciate any input and thoughts on this one.

Never seen a Baer's Pochard but that tuft at the back of the head and yellow eye to me suggests that this bird at least has some tufted duck in it
