I moved 2 hours south and am intrigued with the difference in species here. I also was in a deciduous forest and now I'm in the Pine Barrens so I am seeing birds that like a coniferous habitat.

Hi there DJ and a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum :t:

We're glad you found us and thanks for taking a moment to say hello. Please join in wherever you like ;)

Hi DJ and a warm welcome from me too.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.

Welcome to BirdForum! I am sure you will find lots to interest you here, and I hope you enjoy your visits.

How does information on new birding hot spots get added?

You can see on eBird that Barnegat Light State Park in NJ has more sightings that some of the locations already listed on BirdForum like Cattus Island.

Do copyright laws prevent you from posting a pdf of the brochure?

Could a new member like me submit some of the information about the Park? Like the bird list for example?

Hi DJ

After a few more posts (4) you will no longer be classed as a 'new member' and will be able to play a full part in Birdforum, such as editing and creating articles in The Opus (at least I presume this is what you are referring to?

Alternatively, meantime, you could let me have the information you think should be in such an article, and I can do it for you.

This is a guide to the information we try to build each article up to: https://www.birdforum.net/opus/Editing_Help:Guideline_for_Location_Articles

Regarding copyright... information should not be copied and pasted from another source, but written in your own words. Links to PDF files are acceptable, but should be posted into either the References section or External Links, whichever seems most appropriate, at the bottom. I could show you how to handle that when you're ready.

Do let me know if you need any more help.
