Red Kites for 'Outskirts' of Aberdeen (1 Viewer)

Hmmm. A bit unfair dropping more Kites into the warzone, perhaps?.

The Black Isle ones aren't going anywhere fast due to persecution of dispersing birds, it seems. Maybe it would be sensible to tackle the underlying issues before introducing more?.

The thinking may be that if they throw enough of them in to the air, at least a few will be able to stay up.

Another release sight seems like a good idea to me particulary as its a matter of a cheap boat ride away.

I believe a pair bred on "Royal Deeside" last year.

I think that was a mistake/misquote in a national rag and posted on ABZ - I don't think breeding was actually confirmed. There were two birds in the Balmoral area over the winter 05/06, seen many times together including by myself, but I believe one 'dispersed'.

Great news about the proposal though.
