Comander de la Kéthulle de Ryhove's invalid Hornbill (1 Viewer)

Björn Bergenholtz

(former alias "Calalp")
Sweden
Here´s yet another fairly unknown guy, commemorated in ...

kethullei as in:
• the invalid "Buceros (Pholidophalus) Kethullei" DUBOIS 1900 (here) [synonym of Bycanistes fistulator CASSIN 1850]

In today's HBW Alive Key explained as:
kethullei
Capt.-Commandant Charles de la Kéthulle de Ryhove (fl. 1893) Belgian Army in the Congo, traveller, collector (syn. Bycanistes fistulator).
Simply trusting Christian Van de Velde (2009) I assume this is the same guy: Charles de la Kéthulle de Ryhove (18651903)
573-576); foot-note 76, p.426, here]
This eponym is not checked any deeper than that, simply trusting the above ...

Take it for what it´s worth.

Björn

Additional info on the Belgian Commander Charles de la Kéthulle de Ryhove (1865–1903), whose full name was: Charles Emmanuel Eugène Ghislain de la Kéthulle de Ryhove.

Born 6 December 1865, in Louvain (Leuven),... and died 14 January 1903, in Bockryck, Limbourg belge, Son of Louis Ferdinand Hippolyte Alexandre Ghislain de la Kéthulle de Ryhove (1865–1903) and Pauline Claire Marie Emma Ghislaine de Vicq de Cumptich.

Wow! Refined people have refined names. At least many ... ;)

Björn

PS. For anyone curious; more info (in French) on this guy is found in Christian Van de Velde's reference (in Post #1); Biographie Coloniale Belge, 1948 ... here (but, note; without the hyphens).
