Hi,: I took these two photos at two different locations in Singapore, this morning. Are they both Asian Paradise Flycatchers? Thank you very much in advance.

Blyth's paradise FC?

Hi,: Got another photo of an Asian Paradise flycatcher in Singapore today. By comparing the photo with yesterday ones, I guess this is a Blyth's Paradise Flycatcher rather than Amur Paradise FC. Can I have your confirmation. Thanks a lot in advance!

Yes, the second bird looks more like Blyth's - the crown contrasts with the rest of the head and the throat seems to grade into the breast - but it's better to be cautious with these, as their appearance can vary significantly according to the light conditions.

Amur has a clear cut off between the black on its throat vs grey upper breast whereas Blyth's is more gradual.

A back view isn't best with shadows etc but I think you're probably right here.

Dear viator and Andy: Thank both of you so much! I did not manage to get a photo of the front. Just now I checked with my friend who took photos of the same bird, and confirm a more gradual grey from its throat to breast, as attached. Thank you so much, again!:flyaway:

Was this in the Healing Garden? There's been a bird there this morning with a lot of yellow on the bill (rather like this one), which has been confusing me.
