Found this fellow in the Salar de Atacama in Northern Chile recently.
Anyone care to fill me in on just what he/she is?
Well outside what little expertise I may have.
Saw a few similar examples but they were all far too nervous to get close to, this one was determined to get his photo taken.

Could it be a Leolaemus? (not sure on the spelling)
They are a south american genus of lizard. L.pictus and L.temus have a similar body shape to this.

Have had a look round and think it may well be a Liolaemus, as for which one...who knows?
I've emailed the man behind the atacamaphoto website so hopefully some more info might appear.

Got a fast reply from him saying that he couldn't find a definitive answer either and if I find one to let him know...
