bluebird nesting habits (1 Viewer)

I have a pair in my garden that have built a nest in a bluebird box and I have watched them caring for their two hatchlings for several weeks. The two babies have apparently left the nest as I noticed there was no more feeding activity from the parents. Today I opened the box and found 2 unhatched eggs there.

Is it common for some eggs to remain unhatched?

Will the parents return to the box and raise another clutch this summer?
