What is 'Gapeworm' Parasite (1 Viewer)

Once a bird lover ... always a bird lover
Hi there

An expert needed here as this is something, I have never heard of before.

A Starling with "gapeworm" (parasite) - showing that it bill does not close very well at all. :-C

Anyone give an idea/insight what this parasite is, and how we deal with it if it affects our garden birds. Is it contagious to all birds in our garden. What do we do if we have this problem with our garden birds?

Need some words of wisdom here :eek!:

Regards
Kathy
