The first returning Goldeneye were noted today, along with a male Shoveler, whilst 60 Fieldfare also moved through.

Goldeneye number's increased to 4 birds, and the first Kingfisher of the year was also noted, with 3 Bullfinch feeding in the bushes around the pools.

Very quiet on the pools today,.......but 2 Kestrel, and a Buzzard, were noted perching on posts, and an overwintering Chiffchaff was also heard.

A Green Sandpiper was noted feeding on a shallow pool, whilst the first Cetti's Warbler of the year was also heard, along with the overwintering Chiffchaff, and 2 Great Spotted Woodpecker were seen in the wooded areas.

The first Goldcrest of the year were noted along the riverbank, whilst a flock of 28 Pink Foots were seen flying over, and a Sparrowhawk passed through.

A 'possible' Siberian Chiffchaff was also noted.

A high number of Tufted Duck on the pools today, the first Meadow Pipit, Pied Wagtail, Grey Wagtail, Lesser Redpoll, and Reed Bunting of the year were noted, whilst Goldeneye number's increased to 5 birds.

A Cetti's Warbler was heard singing from the reedbeds, where a Water Rail was also heard 'squealing'.

A 'probable' Willlow Tit was noted feeding around the damp wooded area, where 14 Siskin, and 2 Lesser Redpoll were also seen.

A small party of Brambling passed through, and a Cetti's Warbler was heard.

Goldeneye number's increased to 6 birds, and 2 Kingfisher were also noted, whilst the Greenshank, was joined by a Spotted Redshank along the riverbank.

A Water Rail, and Cett's Warbler were heard, and a Kingfisher perched low down in the reeds by the pools......3 Redwing passed through.

The Greenshank remained on the river, where 300 Dunlin were also seen roosting.

A small party of Lesser Redpoll and Siskin, were feeding in the wooded area, along with the first Coal Tit of the year, and Reed Bunting number's have now increased to 3 birds, a Water Rail was also heard, and a Wigeon 'dropped in'.

A pair of Grey Wagtail, and small number's of Redwing and Fieldfare passed through, whilst 5 Siskin fed in the wooded area......a Peregrine 'hassled 'the on site Feral Pigeons.

A pair of Sparrowhawk were noted displaying above.

A small party of Snipe were seen in the wet grassland, where a flock of Linnet were also noted, and the first Stonechat of the year was seen along the riverbank.

A Cetti's Warbler was heard singing, and a loan Snipe was on the edge of the pools, whilst 5 Skylark were noted around the rough grassland.

Approximately, 70 Black Headed Gull's have returned to breed on Island No1.

2 pairs of Reed Bunting were around the pools, a Great Spotted Woodpecker was heard 'drumming', 5 Skylark, and 4 Meadow Pipit were noted on the rough grassland area......a female Goldeneye remained on the pools.

2 Cetti's Warbler were heard singing throughout, with 4 Reed Bunting present in the reed beds.

59 Tufted Duck, 3 Little Grebe, 11 Gadwall, and a Great Crested Grebe were on the pools, whilst 2 Skylark, 2 Kestrel, 1 Sparrowhawk, and 11 Linnet, frequented the rough grassland area.

A Little Owl was perched along the riverbank.

The on site Black Headed Gull colony, now number's in excess of 150 birds.
