Forest of Dean trip- suggestions? (1 Viewer)

Hello,
I am visiting the Forests of Dean in a couple of weeks.
Do you have any top tips of places to go to, birds I may see etc.
I'm hoping to see/ hear nightjars so recommended locations would be helpful,
thank you.

My first suggestion is to monitor The Gloster Birder at http://www.birder.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/

Also the Nagshead site at http://www.rspb.org.uk/reserves/guide/n/nagshead/index.aspx.

Then find Lewis Thomson's site at http://www.lt-wildlife.blogspot.co.uk/ (he is assistant warden at Nagshead) He doesd update about Nagshead and Severn estuary.

Symond's Yat should still be OK for raptors including Goshawk.

Boy's Grave appears best at the moment for Nightjar, Woodcock and Wild Boar.
