:t:Hi Rich,
I am new here also. You have chosen a great New Years resolution! I have found my local Audubon Society to be a great resource. I learn so much on their field trips. Also the Cornell site All About Birds has a free class on using their free app Ebird to record your listings. It uses GPS to record your location and shows you the birds that you are likely to spot in that area and it keeps a life list for you. And, on their website you can explore the local hotspots in your area and even see what birds people have been recently seeing and listing. Their free app Merlin is also great for helping ID birds based on location, size, and color.

Cheers,
Kim
