Bahama oriole

Are there any information how hurricane Dorian affected the Bahama oriole?

The islands that have been particularly hammered are Grand Bahama and Abaco; Bahama Oriole is restricted to Andros Island.

The birds at greatest risk, as best I can see, are Bahama Nuthatch (it would be a miracle were it to survive at all) and Bahama Warbler.

The Abaco population of Cuban Parrot is probably suffering, but there's a healthy population on Inagua.

I don”t think it is as automatic a dismissal of the nuthatch as you say. I think a very important part of that equation is what the politicians decide afterwards. If they decide to clean out the remnants of trees etc, then you are right. If they can keep their fingers away and leave natural areas alone, then I think there is hope.

This new article is on the Bahama nuthatch:

After Dorian, ‘grave concern’ for birds in the northern Bahamas.
