How about identifying the warbler in the photo. Place: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, a few days ago. A female Canada Warbler?

I thought it might be a Yellow Warbler, perhaps a comparatively dull female/juv type. But I'm not really sure, no doubt an American or Canadian will be able to answer more confidently soon.

Looks more like a Yellow Warbler to me - doesn't have that heavy Oporornis feel, and is too uniformly yellowish - a Connecticut would have a more hooded appearance, and be duller overall. The uppertail coverts are relatively bright yellowish - a Connecticut would show duller uppertail coverts. Also, note the pale tertial fringes - Connecticuts have plain tertials. Nice picture!

It looks like a Yellow Warbler to me -- solidly yellowish all over, with no gray hood; light-edged dark tertials; yellow on the tail feathers; a plain face with a short stout bill and something of an eyering. Probably a young bird. Wonderful picture.
