Common Gull on Dartmouth Pool this afternoon, c 150 Fieldfare in 3 groups (c40, 60 & 50) W over Dartmouth Park late morning per Matt Hadlington

We clocked up 90 species in October with 4 being new for the year, the star bird of the month being Hawfinch with an amazing 22 birds including probables. Forge Mill had a few bits n bobs Little Egret x3, Pintail, Goosander a fantastic 59 birds in to Roost, Gadwall x42, Jack Snipe x4 birds on the Bund, Teal x15, Rock Pipit originally seen on the River then being seen on the Bund, Red Breasted Merganser a male in moult only our sixth record and Lapwing x37. The Feeding Station had a good run with Willow Tit, Marsh Tit, Coal Tit, Nuthatch and Brambling one of eight birds recorded in the month, Swan Pool had Little Grebe x12, we had Siskin x24 and Redpoll c20. Viz Mig gave us max counts of Wood Pigeon x2,700, Skylark x7, Redwing x500, Fieldfare x150, Blackbird x24, Linnet x24 and Ring Ouzel, also seen Goshawk, Common Gull, Yellowhammer, Raven x4, Ring Necked Parakeet x80 a new record count, Collared Dove x8, Chiffchaff and Blackcap
