Shot this morning in eastern Ontario, Canada, this looks like some kind of sparrow to me, but I have no idea what kind of bird it is. Can anyone ID it?

I just spent some time going through the Cornell Lab checking out the differences between the two and I think you may be right on it being an immature Lincoln's Sparrow birdmeister.

Where exactly did you see this bird, Gordon? Lincoln's Sparrow is quite rare and very localized in eastern Ontario in July, whereas Swamp Sparrow is much more common and widespread.

And, having looked at the photos on eBird of immature Lincoln's Sparrows, I don't see a single one without obvious streaking on the breast, so I'm convinced that this is a Swamp Sparrow.
