Nestboxes for a Particular Corner
We've just moved into a new house, and have a corner where I'd appreciate some advice re: boxes.
There are two garages with a triangular nook between the end wall of one and the side wall of the other. It is a quiet corner to which no one has access except is.
The wide end (1.2m wide) of the 'v' faces east, with a small gap, and the angle is perhaps 25 degrees on plan. The walls both sides are about 8ft high and the nook is as deep as the width of a garage.
It gets some sun, but not very much, and some breeze. Quite sheltered.
Any suggestions for what I could put here?
I'm tempted to try a set of sparrow boxes on the north facing side, but I wonder if I would be better with a plank set off from the wall like a barge board with chicken wire stapled to the back to aid grip. The only local sparrow pair I've spotted close by are behind a curly barge board.
What else might we hope for here?
Thoughts would be welcome.
