Hi,

My daughter told me she has seen a large bird of prey today. It was tawny brown, bigger than a red tailed hawk and not a vulture.
Sorry about lack of detail but anyone any suggestions.

Thanks

Mike

She must have had a good look at it if she is sure about it's color. Did she see if flying? If so was it soaring or not? Or was it perched or on the ground? Was there some kind of frame of reference she used in estimating the size or was the bird isolated?

The only BOP that is bigger than a vulture and commonly seen in Georgia is a Bald Eagle which is really very large (massive) and hard to mistake although they don't get their white heads and tails until their 4th year. More information might make an ID possible.
