Song Thrush (In Song) (1 Viewer)

Hi Colin,

Up here they've been singing again for the last couple of weeks or so. They usually start end Oct or November, and carry on (weather permitting) until June or July; the only time they don't sing is late summer & early autumn.

We have a singer here outside our house every dawn and has been going for a couple of weeks at least. It was even going in the heaving rain this morning.

Song Thrush singing today at Lowestoft Early or Late?????

Colin, Hi. Did you actually see the singer as a Song Thrush. I have never known Song Thrushes sing through the winter. The thrushes thats sing thru the night here in brightly lit York city centre is the 'Stormcock' or better known as the Mistle Thrush. They start about October thru till early summer. The worse the weather the louder they sing! I have known them sing all thru the long winter nights, finishing at dawn. So perhaps it was Mistle...but I will stand correction.
