Please help me to ID this bird. I made pictures in Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya on July 2017.

Looks like nothing I can see in the book?

Grey head and back with contrasting brown wings and tail?

Beyond my experience I'm afraid

A very worn White-eyed Slaty Flycatcher, hence the borwn wing and the poorly defined eye-ring.

I also assumed that it was a White-eyed Slaty Flycatcher, but how are they different!

You are right, but subspecies can look different, here is a western subspecies "normal" adult.
