Another Sierra Nevada foothill ID please (1 Viewer)

Great, thanks for the ID, I don't have any photos of a pipit, but maybe that is because I always thought they were immature mockingbirds.
 
Pipits are ground dwelling birds, almost always seen on the ground, rarely perching in bushes of trees, and keeping their body more horizontal than vertical, unlike mockingbirds which tend to hold their body vertical and show flashes of white in the wings. Pipit's are also smaller and slimmer than mockingbirds. Townsend's Solitaire look like grayer versions of mockingbirds, without the white in the wings.
