Another Sierra Nevada CA ID (1 Viewer)

This bird was found at 6000+ ft elevation off of Mormon Immigrant Trail on the California side of the Sierra Nevada mountains, it was on the far side of a meadow, they were numerous, formed loose groups and rarely sat still. There was no noticeable differences between individuals as far as different sexes, in flight the black wing bars against the yellow were very attractive to watch. The birds were about the size of a large finch or sparrow.

The photo was across the field, maybe 100 yards so I cropped it to make it bigger but no other manipulation to the colors or anything. Any ideas?

It's a Pine Siskin.

There's no age difference between juvenile and adult in the number of wingbars according to the illustrations in the 6th edition National Geographic guide. Sibley does not illustrate juveniles.
