Good Deal on 10x50 SLC's? (1 Viewer)

Would $966 for new 10x50's (closeout price at a major retailer), be worthwhile? I assume they are moving them out for the new models. I did get to try them and the size and weight did not seem bad because they balanced in my hands well. I did not have my 8x32 Nikon SE there to compare them so I am curious about the sharpness compared to these or similar binos. The FOV seemed to be real nice.

I am just curious about opinions.

Anything under about $1200 for the 10x50 would be a great buy, IMHO. That's a fine device for seein' stuff far off.

I've seen some price drops on the current 10x42 SLC, due to the pending release of the new SLC HD but nothing on the 10x50's yet.

If that price is for a 10x50 SLC Nue, it's a really great deal.

If it turns out to be a 10x42 SLC Nue, well that's just a great deal. ;-)
