If you are European.
But I remember trying to ID some birds after my first couple of days in Delhi.
Indeed, my (non-Indian) friend who lived in a compound with a lot of greenery (embassy), looked at my first day's photos and said, 'Are these from Japan?' And when I said, 'No, they are from outside your house, here in Delhi' she didn't believe me. Until I showed her.

My comment was not about ones familiarity with the birds of Europe, but more so to the fact that the OP should've seen many of these species while in France.
Thanks. Had a great time in Paris. I had not set aside time to do some birding. I got these birds in disneyland!
