Birding today at the Aveiro marshes near Salreu in northern Portugal I saw at least two flocks of c. 10 birds in each of mixed male/female/prob young yellow-crowned bishops roaming amongst the reedbeds and rice paddies, and so appeared to be established and common here.

I can’t find much about the distribution of this introduced species within Portugal but I guess that it is spreading?

Does anyone have any info?
