Birding spots in and around Dortmund (1 Viewer)

Hello! I am new to the city and would like to know of there are any good birding spots in and around Dortmund, especially now when the summers are over and it's becoming difficult to spot birds in the parks nearby! Any kind of help would be appreciated! :) Also wanted to know if there are any birding day tours organized around the city..

Hi Akshada and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

I've moved your post to the Information Wanted forum and subscribed you to the thread so that you can find it easily. You will receive an email with a link to click on which will bring you straight here.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.

My advice in that other thread still holds.
Further to my recommendations there, Halde Ellinghausen (north of the city) is a good spot for seeing migrating birds, although 7000 cranes already passed last Thursday. At least it is a site that regularly attracts birders.
A site that I don't know, but that seems to get some attention, is Hallerey on the west side of the city.

In normal years, it might well be that organisations like the NABU would organise trips to see geese along the Rhine, but I expect that you can forget about that at the moment, with the entire Ruhr Area declared a high risk corona area... I cannot help you there!
