RFI about existence of sham foot-paddling in gulls’ courtship (1 Viewer)

Hi, All Gulls' lovers,

I have a question for all of you who are interested in gulls’ behavior. Many gulls utilize ‘foot-paddling’ when foraging (BTW very interesting behavior to observe). But, so far, I could not find references for any gull including a sham foot-paddling in a courtship ritual. I know that male LAGU may engage in a form of courtship feeding that involves cooperative feeding: male foot-paddles to release horseshoe-crab eggs from the soil for females, but I am looking only for sham behavior that is just a part of courtship. I will appreciate any info on this subject and/or as well even negative comments from people spending a lot of time observing gulls.

Thanks in advance,

Mark
