Common Gull\Med gull (1 Viewer)

A young Common Gull\Med gull taken in herts, uk thinks its common but I can't decide for sure as I did'nt see it from the side

Sorry, I don't see either of those! I see a juv Herring Gull (left edge), two Black-headed Gulls (flying, and standing), and the wingtips of a 3rd BHG (right edge) :t:
 
You can tell gulls from their wing tips N? Amazing.
A few, yes; most, no! Black-headed has a very distinctive pattern, not shared by any other gull frequent in Britain (Bonaparte's and Slender-billed are similar, but are so rare one wouldn't consider them here).
