Falcon chicks stolen from castle (BBC News) (1 Viewer)

Something rings a bell with this location. Is this the same place that all the Peregrine chicks mysteriously disappeared last year? A member was observing them then posted that they were gone over night - he suspected theft rather than falls/deaths/fledging.

(if it wasn't this exact location, it was certainly in Cheshire)

I've just started another article in the birds of prey section. I went there this morning, unaware of the news hoping to get some great views as the weather is lovely. I didn't see anything after an hour and so came home.

I had a little search on google for any updates and was presented with a douzen articles about the theft of the chicks and an egg! I'm absolutley fuming!

Would this prompt the adults to leave the area? Have they been seen since?

note the description. unfortunately this kind of crime seems to be very widespread at the minute. a guy was telling me the other day how easy it is to get a licence to keep birds of prey, i told him he misunderstood me, all i wanted to know if his birds were captive bred or rescues, unfortunately the former. i'd love to be able to do something more about wildlife crime.
