Humanity 0.01% of all life on Earth (1 Viewer)

But what does it mean? Are we supposed to be proud of how much or how little we are? Of how much damage we've managed to do with so little? Of how many chickens we've made?

Where is this going???

It's possibly an attempt to inform all those whose personal circumstances or deliberate choices include only the human aspect that the diverse world out there is needed and is not just an occasionally noticed backdrop...

It's worse than that - he's dead Jim !

...and perhaps 99% of life out of water exists in a skin of air less than 5km in depth...

And the "Thin Brown Line" upon which life on earth depends, represents just 1/250 of a single % of that ~5km :eek!:

The earth's vital layer of topsoil is just ~a millionth of a single % of its diameter ..... that's about 1/5000th the thickness of a coat of paint in comparison to a metre !

Restorative land use practices - building soil - is the only game in town .... without it, it's been estimated there's only 60 years of topsoil left. :eek!: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Topsoil

Rising temperatures and CO2 - pfft ! Drying and loss of soil (and it's vegetation and hydrological systems) is the real cause and elephant in the room. This makes Natural Sequence Farming (and land use, natural resource management, conservation and restoration) as invented by Peter Andrews OAM all the more important https://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=342128

Chosun :gh:

I saw the article online and knew I wanted to post the link somewhere. To pass on the knowledge. And hope others would join in the discussion and add other environmental and conservation knowledge and suggestions.
