Local rarity
Some friends and I are heading to Cyprus in a couple of weeks time, hoping for a bit of autumn migration birding. We have the usual site guides, but it would be useful to get some up-to-date information on which sites are productive at the moment, and in particular which 'wetland' areas are actually wet at the moment.

Thanks in advance for any help or information anyone is able to give.

Hi Stuart

Sorry I've only just seen this! Unfortunately, we've had very little rain this year and so a lot of the "wet" places are either dry or very low. Your best bet is to keep an eye on the BirdLife Cyprus recent sightings board here : http://www.birdlifecyprus.org/en/html-51-Recent_Sightings.html it will give you an idea of what's around and where but it relies on individuals reporting their sightings to the Cyprus Birdline! This usually results in a bias of sightings around the Larnaka/Lemesos areas.

Good luck!
