Nokia apps (1 Viewer)

I'm new to this flash phone business - the ability to phone and text was always enough for me before - so sorry if this is a daft question but I'm looking for apps for my Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic. The Ovi site is the official Nokia site but there are other places. Do phones get viruses? I'm very reluctant to download software to my computer unless I'm pretty sure it's safe. Should I be the same with my phone?

And can anyone recomend an app that will let me read - and ideally but less importantly amend - Word and Excel documents?

Cheers

It is possible for a phone to have a virus, but there are no serious ones out there as yet. It's not really anything to worry about.
