Hi everyone, thanks for letting me join. I have a dead juvenile raptor on my lawn. should I inform anyone in case it has been shot or poisoned? It is either a sparrowhawk or a buzzard.

Perhaps contact your nearest police wildlife liaison officer or the hawk and owl trust. Can you put the corpse in a freezer meanwhile. One question though, why do you think it is a juvenile of those species?

Double bag or even triple bag it if you or others are concerned about putting non-food things in your freezer - it should be perfectly safe to do so if you handle it carefully. (Needs to be kept cold for possible future post mortem)
