''Australia’s rarest waterfowl"... (ref eBird) (1 Viewer)

Went out to shoot some Hardhead ducks last week (with my camera).

When I got home I notices some different ducks in the background. Hard to tell exactly what they were as they were out of focus and sometimes behind reeds.

So a return journey was made ..... and I am so pleased I did ... these are FRECKLED DUCKS Stictonetta naevosa .. and as cited here are this country's rarest waterfowl. http://www.birdlife.org.au/bird-profile/freckled-duck

I have been birding for less than 5 weeks .... so I am very thrilled with this sighting.
