Upton Warren (12 Viewers)

Blackwit was back on Flashes at 18.55.
Also present: LRP, 19 Avocet and 14 Lapwing, 6 Shelduck (3 prs), 15 Shoveler (6 prs + 3 males), Gadwall 10 (4 prs + 2 males), Teal 15+. Groups of 6 & 14 Sand Martin through Sailing Pool. One Little Egret briefly in scrub along Hen Brook close to sewage works.

What are your thoughts on Gadwall numbers John - 16 across the reserve or 10 mobile birds? :eek!:

Still no Blackcap this month

Difficult to say, they were mobile, and the largest number we saw together was on the flashes mid afternoon we thought five pairs but it could have been four pairs and two males as seen later.

I had Little Gull on 10th Feb....

Friday birds

If you are going to the Moors east hide then look towards the Sand Martin box, go right to the tree stump and slightly right of that where I think I caught glimpses of a Sedge Warbler. I did see the eye stripe but didn't get a clear view so that area is worth checking.
A few random pics from today including the Hybrid Med/BHG which showed well on the Flashes. Sand and House Martins plus Swallows on the sailing pool.:t::t::t:
