Are there any particular birds you want to see in Austria? I went birding in the Austrian Alps last June. Here is a link to my trip report.

I hope to see some Golden Eagle and of course ,with a lot of luck, a Barded Vulture. And a European Roller would be nice, too!

When I visited Austria it was mostly the Eastern areas towards Hungary that I went to. For that, I used a little booklet "Finding birds in ...) from Birdguides: http://www.birdguides.com/html/fram...k_nav.htm&right=books/updates/birdsupdate.htm

Golden Eagle I saw from Franz Joseph Hoehe in front of Grossglockner.
Good place for Golden Eagle is also Spitzingsee in Bavarian ( guided tours available ).
