Is the programme still working, have the birds returned this year? I was thinking of going to Eldernell one evening, hoping to hear one. What do you think?

Yes, the first bird(s) are back, but numbers are lower than previous years - perhaps due to the northerly airflow of the last few weeks.
 
Grafham Water 9 May evening : 2 Dunlin and 2 Ringed Plovers on the dam and a pair of Yellow Wagtails mating on the dam in the cold wind.
 
Grafham Water 17 May evening in heavy rain. 1 Sanderling , 1 Dunlin and 3 Ringed Plovers on the dam and a very wet photography session to test the waterproofing.

Grafham Water 24 June early am: at least 5 Yellow-legged Gulls around now. Some interesting photo opportunities available if interested.
 
Grafham Water 1/2 July; around 5 Yellow -legged Gulls (1 July: probable Caspian Gull -Imm but half a mile away); Common Scoter female off Mander Car park this evening; maybe the same female from the winter as seems to be behaving the same?
 
Grafham Water 8 July evening: at least 6 Yellow-legged Gulls dotted about. Nearby a Purple Emperor and many Silver-washed Fritillaries at Brampton Wood on 9th.
