Krider's Red-Tailed Hawk ???Southern Ontario (1 Viewer)

Just saw this bird today near the village of Erieau in Southern Ontario and have checked with one other person who IDed the bird as a Krider's just would like some thoughts on this bird on Id and points to back up that ID.

It matches the Krider's in the big Sibley perfectly. Therefore it must be a Krider's RTH. I hope...
 
Wheeler's range maps in both the Eastern and Western Editions don't show Krider's in Ontario but they have been recorded in S. Ontario and elsewhere in the East-see page 268 of the Eastern Edition under Extralimital winter/migration.

This bird fits his description of a juvenile Krider's on page 263 of above edition. Also see plates 368 and 369 therein for similar pictures.

Awesome, striking bird......Krider's for sure, very nice!

I have had two county records of Krider's in Ontario. They are rare, irregular but a few turn up most years, mostly along the north shore of Lake Erie.

You should write this up and send the photo to OFO, they review recognizable forms as well as species-only rarities.
