Wagtail, Cambodia (1 Viewer)

Well-known member
Be interested to hear opinions on the identification of this wagtail (including sub specific ID if relevant).
Photo taken (not by me) on 14th March in Cambodia.
I have my theory but prefer to hold back for the moment.
Thanks,
James

The pattern does seem a bit unusual, but I think it is a female leucopsis. Although leucopsis usually have a fully white face, a few do have dusky ear coverts. This seems to be slightly commoner in females in my experience, and probably also slightly commoner in autumn, possibly due to wear.

It doesn't have the typical pattern of an intergrade with alboides, which would normally have more black than this bird.
