Unidentified bird, KL Malaysia, 20 Jul (1 Viewer)

I agree it's a tailorbird, but the whitish vent and the extent of rufous on the crown look more like Common Tailorbird to me.

OK. I thought there should be a visible supercilium on Common. And the vent looks yellowish to me. But it's ages since I saw a real one.

Agree with John on Common Tailorbird. Dark-necked should have an entirely rufous crown, whereas on Common Tailorbird, the rufous coloration is limited to the forecrown, as on this bird. The vent on Dark-necked is usually greenish. Dark-necked is unlikely in KL unless seen in forest habitat on the edge of the city. I saw it at Taman Rimba Ampang, which I hear is no more.

Yeah, I'm at the edge of the city... But I guess it's a Common Tailorbird. Thanks.

Hello,

two unidentified birds from my sisters trip to Kuala Lumpur. Male and female Brown-throated sunbird?
