Unusual Lapwing behaviour. (1 Viewer)

Castle Birder
Here in Scarborough the cold weather has been making waders go nutty. Lapwing, redshank and curlew have been turning up in unusual places. Today I saw a new one though. A lapwing perched in a tree! I have only ever heard of this once before, and that was in the last cold snap when my girlfriend saw one perched in a tree on Scarborough Castle!

Has anyone else observed this behaviour before?

Jim Hi,

That's amazing!...The nearest I can get to that..is Woodcock perched on a.. (lightening struck!..dead tree) c10-12' up!..also BHGull,C.Gull and Moorhen albeit different trees at different times.

I remember being puzzled by a dipper up a tree once...
