Tri Colored Heron ?? Lake Conroe Texas

Thought this might be a juvenile Great Blue Heron because it is so much smaller than an Adult. Doing a little research this looks to be a Tri-Colored Heron.

Please confirm and is it a juvenile or are they roughly half the size of a regular Great Blue Heron?

Thanks,

Chuck

This is a Tricolored Heron. Once they're out of the nest, juvenile herons are the same size as adults.

Did you mean Little Blue? Juvenile Great Blue Herons (blue form) are not white and, as D Halas said, juvenile herons are the same size as the adults, so it would be a large heron if it were a Great Blue.

I am not sure what you mean with the link to the other thread. The photo at the start of this thread is of a juvenile Tricolored Heron.
