We had a solitary House Martin at Cowpen Bewley Pond today - pretty early arrival too.

Yea it always amuses me when I send in records of Exceptioanlly early migrants. I usually get a note requesting a description.

After the 1st April one would not be required.

It seems to be the occupation of some birders to get the earliest migrants each year.

This Willow Warbler is one week earlier than normal.

But I won't be suprised if the county recorder asks for a description.
