Hello (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone! I am not an avid birdwatcher, more of a backyard bird watcher. I do enjoy watching the birds feed in the Winter, and am amazed at all the different colors and personalities. I live in Upstate New York and am retired. I had the pleasure (right or wrong) of raising 4 baby robins after a cat got their mama. Of course, they did bond to me, but imagine my delight when they started finding their own bugs in the yard! I lost one, but the other three thrived and I do believe they came back last Spring. Thankfully, they did not come to me and land on my shoulder or hand - but stayed fearfully far - just what I'd hoped for. That's really my only personal wild bird story, but I see lots of great information here, and feel comfortable asking silly questions, like my first thread, "What is pooping in my bird feeder?" Hope to learn more here... thanks for letting me join.
