Cape Town Falcon (1 Viewer)

Hi there,

A friend of mine photographed this falcon at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Cape Town earlier today. Unfortunately, these are the best shots he was able to get, but do any of you get an immediate reaction as to what it is?

Regards
Trevor

Do you not think that the bases of the wings are too narrow for Lanner Falcon?

Does anybody out there have lots of experience with Eleonora's Falcon? Would that not be a better fit for this bird on shape alone?

Regards
Trevor

Elanora's is possible, but I think that this is either a Sooty Falcon (Falco concolor) or a Grey Kestrel (Falco ardosiacus) both very similar, though Grey Kestrel has the dark edges to the tail that show in these images.
