What to expect in SE London/N Kent? (1 Viewer)

Hi,

still quite new to all this and wondered what migrants I can expect to see in my graden/locale in the SE London/N Kent area. I have woodland and marsh within a couple of miles.

Thanks in advance

as for your locale, try Thamesmead, particularly Crossness NR and sewage outfall or maybe thrash along the Thames foreshore between Swanscombe and Dartford (winter is good) ... tidal, lots of scrub, mudflats ... Diver possible, waders (Swanscombe reliable for Jack Snipe), wildfowl, Stonechat, Rock Pipit (Water Pipit possible), chance of Black Redstart, Peregrine, Merlin, SE Owl ... as for woodland, Abbey Wood holds LS Woodpeckers

How about Hobby, Honey Buzzard, SE Owl and Red Kite. I've seen all of these in Lewisham over the last few years. London is a great place for birds and the most unlikely species turn up from time to time. As for North Kent, try Cliffe and Northward Hill as well as those places mentioned by London Birder.
