Hoopoe (1 Viewer)

Hi all went to Wall Heath today and got some amazing photos of a Hoopoe the location is Enville road landscaped quarry bus stop right next to gates if looked up on google it still shows quarry as working but its not now ,, over the gate go left through some new saplings back of house then walk straight up the field, Saturday it was down by the trees left hand side, but today it was right on top of the hill in a little clump of twigs, it has been there since November.

Cheers!

Birdguides has been recommending climbing over the gate, and it does have the advantage that you're entering the site a reasonable distance from the areas the bird seems to like, so less chance of flushing it as you arrive, but anyone who doesn't fancy climbing a gate may like to know that there's a footpath into the site from the north end of Blaze Hill Road. That's how the local dog-walkers get in. Or there's an alleyway down the back of the houses which comes out at the same place.

How long does it generally make people wait before it shows? May get chance to get down at the weekend (if it's still there) but may not have a lot of time to hang about.
