Eurasian Collared Dove (1 Viewer)

Bird and squirrel lover.
I noticed some were saying this bird was a "rarity" is that really true?
Or is it a location rarity thing?
Or maybe not a rare bird at all, LOL.

I got a pair of them that feed regularly (twice to three times a day) and have done so since I started feeding the birds.

Yeah, in some states, like AZ, it's still not found everywhere, especially at higher elevations where I live (7,000 ft.). I was surprised, too, last year to find out it was more uncommon here than I'd thought. "Little" Sibley's for western NA shows it as "rare" in the southern Rocky Mountain states and AZ and in the northern plains states, and only resident in the southeastern and south central states. Well, and Nebraska, which is also technically a plains state, huh? ;)

Thanks for the info.

Last summer I had the pair that still visit and a second pair, but the second pair moved on it seems. Only the one pair now. Had them all winter. Watched them the other day, mating ritual I presume. He puffed out his chest and started hopping at the female and bobbing his head up and down, was pretty cute, the female didn't seem real interested at the time. But hopefully BABIES!!! :)
