Moorhen in Madeira (1 Viewer)

It looks better to me for a Common Moorhen, an immature bird acquiring adult-like bill colours. But if you have more photos, it would be interesting to see them.

Sorry, there is only one photo because at first I thought it was a common. But I think that neither the juveniles and adults of common have the yellow bill.that's why I thought it could be Paragallinula angulata,,,,,

I think that this is not clear, but still agree to common moorhen.

Overall bulk is too much for Lesser

The white line on the wing edge looks broad and extensive. Should be narrow on Lesser

Culmen is curved, should be much straighter for Lesser.

The culmen is also yellow.

Legs look yellow, although variable in Lesser should be greener, redder or duller in Lesser.

Common Gallinule G. galeata from N America is presumably also possible - I've no idea how to distinguish a subadult, though.

Good points. Plus I now see some red on the lower mandible which I don't think there should ever be in Lesser.

yes, culmen is curved in this bird, and the head structure is different.....
