Ooh, on this picture it fits Verreaux's Eagle, but I am hesitating to call the species I know very little. Somebody more experienced could do, though.
Scanning out to the region on Maps, I'd think that's unlikely - a fairly flat lowland area, with plantation forestry and suburban mix; Verreaux's is a bird of craggy sites where it can find its hyrax prey. Must admit, I'm not even sure it's a raptor at all, I was wondering if any hornbills might fit?

What's worrying me is that my master list only has 219 on - somewhere in the last few days, I've tagged two off in this thread, but forgot to add them to my master list . . . whole thread reconcile coming up :-C:-C:-C
Can't find anything missing; I think I must have numbered a couple of species twice in this thread (one was Magnificent Frigatebird; I can't find the other). So currently 219 species, not 221. If anyone can spot any errors - species they know they've mentioned, but not listed below, please mention it!

Red-billed Chough, South Stack, Anglesey (best one of group of 3, see next frames northwest) - #223 :t:

Great! I have searched for them unsuccessfully in Ronda, Spain, where they are usually easily seen from the bridges over the gorge.

Recently founds:
There are countless private footages and see insides of the famous Penguins at Boulders beach, South Africa. A single genuine GSV shot shows them too, right next to the viewing platform, even if they are only "black blobs" and not identifiable on this one. I guess we could still count this, couldn't we? - African Penguin - South Africa

Thanks!

I searched Boulders Beach too the other day, and missed that one tiny gap! First penguin, too! #224 :t:

Excellent nailing the African Spoonbill - visible, but in unidentifiable poses, in the frames either side. #225, and an excellent set of Marabou Storks there too.

Can (almost) dream I can actually see the red knobs 3:) . . . #226 :t:

One other group of birds we've not started on yet - should be possible to find some bustards? Great in Spain, Kori in Africa somewhere? Big things, ought to be visible a long way off!

Also more Ratites - Greater Rhea? Emu? Perhaps even Cassowary (as they sometimes visit suburbia in Queensland)?

I already tried Great and Litte Bustards in Spain and Portugal, difficult! And finding an Emu in thousands of km in the outback of Australia also certainly requires a lot of patience or time or luck. But it should be possible. :t: Let's see!
